I2Factory is a spin-off of The Distributed Group, which whom we work in close co-operation.  Their focus is on providing effective enterprise application and information integration solutions that build on solid, disciplined research results.

We are planning on transferring the Guaraná DSL and Guaraná SDK technologies, which range amongst our most successful results, to the software industry, which requires transforming our research prototypes into solid, ready-to-deployment products. 

To carry out this task, I2Factory is seeking for young, well-qualified software engineers who meet the following requirements:

  • Very good aptitudes and attitudes towards learning and working cooperatively.
  • A grade or a master degree in Software Engineering. (No related disciplines will be considered, sorry.)
  • Very good command of design patterns.
  • Very good command of the Java Enterprise Edition technology.
  • Very good command of common Enterprise Service Bus technologies, including Open ESB, Petals, Camel, or Spring Integration, to mention a few.
  • A little experience working for a software company will be very appreciated.

The contract negotiation starts at 15.000€ per year, but it will absolutely depend on the value each candidate can deliver to the project. The work will be carried out in parallel with a PhD on related research areas.

The Research Group on Distributed Systems of the University of Sevilla (Spain) focuses on researching and developing tools for dealing with the complexity of web-based applications, chiefly in the field of e-businesses. Currently, their focus is on Enterprise Application and Information integration.

The group is seeking for a student who wishes to earn a PhD degree in the previous area. The perfect candidate is a young, motivated, well-qualified student who earned a B.Sc. degree in Software Engineering or a closely related area very recently; very good command of English is mandatory; working knowledge of Spanish will be appreciated, although it is not a requirement. The work will focus on learning first-order logic rules to infer web information extraction rules.  Previous experience in this research field will be very appreciated.

Zoco'11 is calling for papers

Zoco'11 is going to be organised in April 2010 in conjunction with the 9th International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems.  

We are seeking for contributions dealing with one or more of the following topics; note that the list is not exhaustive and that other topics might be welcome as long as they are clearly aligned with Enterprise Application and Information Integration:

  • Reference architectures within the context of the SOA and mashups.
  • Data exchange and data integration.
  • Linked data and semantic web tecnologies.
  • Wrapping web applications.

Grant for undergrad students

We offer a 4-year contract that is endowed with a wage of 14.000€ per year, subject to a yearly increase according to the retail price index.
